Recent Initiatives for Advancing Interdisciplinary Integration
Nashidai Interdisciplinary Symposium (Held Annually)
An annual event where researchers selected for university research projects from all academic domains at University of Yamanashi gather to present their research and engage in discussions. The symposium promotes active exchange of information and ideas, leading to cross-disciplinary collaboration and the formation of new research teams.

Cross-Disciplinary Fusion Research Project (2016~2021)
To generate new value through cross-disciplinary research, matching between different research fields was promoted with the support of URAs and coordinators. Interdisciplinary research teams selected through internal calls were intensively supported (25 projects in total). In addition, annual calls were conducted for the Exploratory Interdisciplinary Research Project, which nurtures early-stage interdisciplinary ideas (70 projects supported in total).
Academic and Social Transformation Research Project (2022~2024)
This initiative continued the philosophy of Interdisciplinary Integration while promoting research that contributes to the SDGs. Interdisciplinary research teams selected through internal calls were provided focused support
(13 projects supported in total).
- These efforts have fostered an environment in which researchers can collaborate more easily across different faculties and organizational units.
- Building on the seeds of interdisciplinary research, the Y-PEAKS project has been newly launched to identify and develop next-generation strengths and distinctive research areas at University of Yamanashi.
Y-PEAKS Project (2025~ )
Building on emerging research seeds, the university promotes new interdisciplinary research and the development of early-career researchers, leading to the identification of next-generation strengths and distinctive research areas.
